Ingredients For Pilaf Rice:
- 1 cup [250 mL] long grain rice
- 3 tablespoons [45 mL] olive oil
- 1/2 Spanish onion, chopped
- 2 cups [200 mL] chicken broth
- Few knobs butter
- Salt and pepper
- Garlic salt
Thoroughly rinse rice under cold running water; drain rice.
Pour olive oil into a microwave-safe dish.
Microwave on ‘MAXIMUM’ for 2 minutes.

Mix in chopped onion; microwave for 2 minutes, on ‘MAXIMUM’.
Mix in drained rice; microwave for 2 minutes, on ‘MAXIMUM’.
Pour in chicken broth; microwave for 18 minutes, still on ‘MAXIMUM’.
Stir in butter.
Season to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic salt, and serve.
